Title: The Tale of Two Pandemics | Not the Great Equalizer
Session Description:
When reviewing stats on where the world is at with gender parity, we can see that no single society has achieved total equality between women and men. The reality is that the COVID-19 pandemic is amplifying existing inequalities and gender gaps. As a result, the pandemic is impacting women disproportionality higher than men, which has been referred to as the tale of two pandemics. The pandemic our health care system and economic markets are dealing with, and the pandemic women are experiencing. Now is the time to come together as women leaders, to ensure we do not lose the gains we have made towards narrowing the gender gap.
During the session, Dr. Pagonis will encourage participants to reflect on and share their experiences, to highlight the unique challenges women are facing as they navigate the pandemic. In addition, Dr. Pagonis will share strategies that can be implemented to overcome the adverse effects Covid-19 is having on women and people from underrepresented and marginalized populations.
Session Outcomes:

- Discuss and explore contributing factors.
